We are once again in Bar Harbor, Maine and the autumn colors are in full Glory.

Most of the tourists who filled the streets of the small town in summer are gone to warmer places. But three cruise ships–among the last for the year–lie at anchor offshore.

We went for a hike on the Shore Path which leads from town through the backyards of some of the grand cottages of the Gilded Age.
